Thanksgiving Dinner – What to Do if You Don’t Want to Cook

Thanksgiving dinner from a gas station, you ask?  Well, if you haven’t ever stopped at the Conoco station in Watauga TX and enjoyed one of the menu items from Chef Point Cafe, you are in for an amazing treat!  

However, if you’re wishing you could have a great Thanksgiving dinner in your own home but don’t want to cook, let Chef  Franson Nwaeze and his wife, Paula cook up a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner for you.  All the usual Thanksgiving treats will be available, including turkey, prime rib, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy and dessert.  You can find the entire menu here along with pricing. 

The husband and wife team started looking for a way to open a restaurant in 2001, but soon discovered that the banks were skeptical about lending them the money they needed to get started because of their lack of experience and collateral.  Learning how much easier it would be to get fnancing for a gas station, they found one under construction and grabbed the opportunity.  The rest is history. 

If your plans this year prevent you from trying out Chef Point Cafe, I would certainly recommend you try it out another day.  They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It’s 5 star dining in a very casual atmosphere.  Definitely a must see!

Chef Point Cafe in Watauga – This time they’re going to be on CNN!

Get ready to see them once again – this time on National television.  Chef Franson and Paula Nwaeze will be featured on CNN and CNN Headline News.  “A lot of small businesses are struggling right now,” Paula says. “And we’ve definitely had our challenges, but we’ve learned so much, and been so blessed, we thought others could benefit from hearing our story.”

Chef Point Watch Party & Celebration

Food Network Comes to Watauga

The popular Food Network show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, came to Watauga to film at the Chef Point Cafe.  The episode will air on April 6 on The Food Network.  Check your local listings for more information.

For those of you in the area, you know that the Conoco gas station on Watauga Blvd is one of the best restaurants in town. Nowhere else can you grab a 5-star dinner and fill up your car with gas at the same time. If you’re from out-of-town, it’s surely a must-see.

This will be the third time Chef Point has been connected with the Food Network. The Nwaezes were guests on NPR’s Kitchen Sisters last year and have been profiled in a magazine, Cooking With Paula Deen.

Fieri was very complimentary, Paula Nwaeze said. “He told Franson, ‘A lot of people think they know how to cook. But you know how to cook.’ ”
