Go Dallas Fort Worth: Taxi or Police Car – It’s Your Choice!

Last night we had some friends come to visit us from California.  Since they had never been to the Dallas Fort Worth area, we decided to take them down to the Fort Worth Stockyards for the afternoon.

If you’ve never been to the Fort Worth Stockyards, it’s a really fun “touristy” thing to do.  There are restaurants, museums, shops and a variety of things for kids to do, such as the petting zoo, a maze that was actually featured on CBS’ Amazing Race one season, a mechanical bull that slows down or speeds up depending upon your age and agility, picture opportunities on real longhorns and, of course, the twice daily walking of the longhorns up and down Exchange Avenue.

We decided to grab a bite to eat at the Love Shack.  All of their burgers are a 50/50 combo of prime tenderloin and prime brisket, ground fresh daily and made to order.  With daily specials and live music, the Love Shack has quickly become a Fort Worth destination.  My recommendation:  Order the Parmesean Chili Chips to go with your burger!  They are to die for!

We then made our way over to the Cowtown Coliseum for the Stockyards Championship Rodeo, which is held every Friday and Saturday night at 8pm.  Since our guests had never been to a Rodeo before, they really enjoyed the experience.

After the Rodeo, we came out of the Coliseum and, much to my surprise, parked right in front of the exit, there were two cars parked that you could hardly miss.  Way to go Dallas/Fort Worth – this was a message that you just couldn’t miss!  As you continued to exit to the street, there were numerous cabs and police cars lining the street – clearly making sure you knew you had a choice.

Now, is this not the best advertising you’ve seen?
